Wanted: Client Director

Wolfstreet is a creative & production agency based in Amsterdam, specializing in visual content production. We develop impactful integrated campaigns and content for brands and agencies by utilizing our in-house expertise across strategy, creative, production, and post-production. Our clients include some of the most exciting brands of today, such as Takeaway.com, Vinted, Adyen, The Vegetarian Butcher, Picnic, and Catawiki.
We’re looking for a Business/Client Director to lead growth and client success across Wolfstreet. This is a hybrid role – part strategic commercial lead, part hands-on account/client leader. Someone who’s driven to truly understand where we can add real value for clients – and who can translate that into clear strategy, stronger relationships, and consistent growth. Someone who brings experience from a respected agency or production-forward shop, with a track record on delivering success at high-profile brands and demanding campaigns.
This position is for 32-40 hours per week and based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. At the moment, we do not offer relocation assistance.
- Commercial leadership: You lead new business through inbound leads, new introductions, referrals and partnerships, and you actively leverage your network to open the right doors. You help shape our commercial strategy – from positioning and proposition to pitch strategy, creative focus and pricing. You spot and unlock growth opportunities within existing clients through upsell, cross-sell, retention and expansion. You run a confident pitch process – from first conversation, through ownership of proposals – all the way to a signed scope.
- Client leadership: You own key client relationships end-to-end and act as a trusted strategic partner. You lead key accounts and set projects up for success from day one – sharp briefs, clear scopes, realistic timelines, solid budgets, and aligned expectations. You work closely with Creative and Production leadership to balance ambition, feasibility, and delivery. You keep quality high, collaboration smooth, and outcomes clear.
- Team leadership: You lead and develop our 2 FTE account team, helping them grow in skill, confidence, and ownership. You coach day-to-day and through bi-weekly 1:1s, set clear goals, and create a high-performing rhythm. You’re responsible for hiring when needed, onboarding, performance reviews, and making sure the team has the right structure, priorities, and support to succeed. You represent the voice of the account team – improving processes, removing friction, and aligning with Creative and Production so projects run smoother and smarter. You create an environment where people feel backed, challenged, and proud of the work.
- Company leadership: You’ll play a key role in shaping Wolfstreet’s next chapter as you will be part of the management team. Beyond leading commercial performance, you help make company-level decisions on strategy, workflow, priorities, ways of working, and profitability. You contribute to broader leadership topics too – team structure and hiring, performance and development, culture, and operational improvements.
- Reporting & Collaboration: You bring structure, clarity and predictability to how we run the commercial side of the business – forecasting, pipeline ownership, account planning, weekly rhythms, and contact logs. You work in our CRM and keep it clean and accurate, making sure opportunities, next steps, leads, and priorities are always tracked. You will regularly report to the Managing Director and management team, delivering clear, concise reports and presentations that highlight key results, action points, and areas for improvement.
- Experience: You have 8+ years of experience leading clients and growing accounts in a renowned creative agency, production agency, or integrated advertising environment. You’ve grown key accounts, brought in new clients, have a broad and strong network, and led complex campaigns with complex stakeholders.
- Client / Project Expertise: Strong commercial and strategic expertise across positioning and proposition development, pitching, scoping and pricing, account planning, and managing budgets. You understand how high-end campaigns are made and sold – from brief to delivery – and you can translate value into clear plans, proposals, and high quality outcomes.
- Leadership Skills: You can set direction and make decisions. You bring clarity to priorities, timelines, and expectations, and you know how to balance business goals with creative ambition with enthusiasm and positivity.
- Team Management Experience: Proven experience managing and developing account/project teams. You coach with reinforcing confidence, set a high bar, and create a clear structure so people grow in skill, ownership, and confidence – while projects and client relationships stay strong.
- Extensive Network: You bring a well-established, relevant network within the Dutch (and ideally international) brand and agency ecosystem. You use it actively – to open doors, create opportunities, and build long-term client partnerships.
- Commercial ownership / pipeline discipline: You take full ownership of the new business and commercial engine – pipeline, forecasting, and prioritization. You drive momentum across opportunities and ensure every lead has a clear owner, next step, and close plan.
- Structure: You work in a clear, organized way. You keep overview, write things down in a central overview, keep everyone aligned on next steps, and keep our CRM up to date so it’s always clear where we stand.
- Quality ownership: You have strong (creative) taste and you care about the work. You take ownership of the end result and protect quality internally and externally throughout the process – while working respectfully with everyone involved.
- Future mindset: You’re actively interested in where advertising is heading – AI, new production approaches, and changing business models. You think about how we can use those shifts to add real value for clients, and you help translate that into how we position, sell, and deliver.
- Communication: You communicate clearly, professionally and convincingly – in emails, calls, and presentations. Calm under pressure, strong with both clients and internal teams.
- Pro-active mindset: You’re proactive and comfortable taking the lead. You manage expectations well, give clear feedback, and make decisions when it matters to keep things moving.
- Languages: You are fluent in English, both spoken and written. A basic knowledge of Dutch is required.
- A senior-level salary, depending on your experience;
- A strong pension plan;
- 26 vacation days per year (based on a 40-hour work week);
- Becoming part of the Management Team
- Opportunity to participate in a long-term incentive plan (equity/options) after a defined period;
- Travel allowance or a company bike;
- An annual personal training and development budget;
- A delicious fresh (vegetarian) lunch;
- A dynamic and creative work environment where achievements are recognized and celebrated;
- The opportunity to contribute to the next chapter of a fast-growing company;
- Independence and ownership in your role;
- A diverse team of international colleagues;
- A beautiful office location, complete with rooftop terrace and bar, in Amsterdam;
